Hello everyone , i need help.

i went back to my country a while ago and i had an orange number which is conected to the banks and other services. I forgot to recharge the sim card after a while and i exceeded the grace period.

now the number is blocked or they took the number away as it was inactive. I need my number back because i am outside romania and i cant have access to a lot of services needed. What should i do ?
i contacted orange and they said i need to go personally to orange shop but i cant

Unfortunately, going to an Orange shop is the only solution to recover the number.

Recovery is usually done by purchasing a subscription.

When i try to buy a subscription online..it shows a message that my number isn’t an orange number.

It is possible only in a Orange Shop.

The only way to regain access to a number (assuming it hasn’t been reallocated) is to move it to a subscription plan. And yes, you need to be here for that, cause there is some paperwork to be signed. So, unfortunately, in this case, there isn’t much you can do. I would suggest contacting the banks and services where you added that phone number and request them to change it to a valid one. It should be pretty straightforward.

It’s a good suggestion to call the bank thank yo.. but do you think they would agree to add a foreign number as a replacement?!
thank you

That's a good question. And...I don't know. I guess the only way is to try to contact them and ask them about that. If you were able to open a bank account without (I'm assuming) having a Romanian-issued ID card, then I'm assuming they might be open to allowing you to change the number to a local one from your country.

Again, I don't know. I never encountered this issue myself, so...my only suggestion would be to try it. Maybe they'll allow it, considering you're not a Romanian citizen.

Think at that: what's more important to you: recover the phone number or change the phone number with a valid one in your agreement with bank(s)? Depending on your interest, act in that way. Good luck.

Some banks allow you to change your phone number in the banking app.

You can try this before contacting them.

Assuming you don't need the number to actually enter the app...:)) But yeah, it's worth trying, for sure. It's a good idea.
